Autumn Shift: Sponsored by Koogal

I just wanted to say a big thank you to KOOGAL for allowing me to do another styling post featuring their gorgeous Sky Shift Dress. What caught my eye was the amazing coral inspired print consisting of gorgeous shades or electric and sky blue, contrasted with shades of orange and red.

It was also the perfect dress to show that despite the fickle autumn weather there's no reason pack up your floral sundresses and flowy skirts just yet. Warmer-months wardrobe works for even the rainiest of days with the addition of a sleek, chic black leather jacket or vest, like the one I am wearing here from Sportsgirl. Nothing is too precious to pair with this biker-inspired topper - the perfect  transitional outwear that's as cozy as it is cool.

I continued my perspex obsession by adding this neon orange perspex clutch from witchery and these amazing perspex-heeled booties from ASOS. The concept of a see-through clutch may seem bizarre to some people (especially to my sister, who called it straight out 'ugly') but by adding a small opaque clutch inside it will both be on-trend as well as practical.

Nine West, Steven Madden & Betsey Johnson Blogger Preview

Nine West
Steve Madden
Betsey Johnson

Last week I had the pleasure of attending Nine West, Steven Madden and Betsey Johnson Blogger Preview of their up coming Spring/Summer collection.

Steve Madden is easily one of America's most successful shoe designers and had really taken off in popularity in Australian over the last few years.Steve Madden's collection features 90s revival style clogs, bright neon satchels  distressed leather boots to killer heels adorned with rock star bling!

Nine West is unveiling a classic sophisticated collection with pointed toe pumps and kitten heels in bright and peachy tones. My favourite was definitely the sweet bow detailing on their 'Kilianna' flat (shown above). However, their collection also moves away from the classic styles and into a more futuristic and exotic trends with platforms featuring mirrored panels and sandals with intricate beading creating a Moroccan inspired twist.

Betsey stole the show for me with the collection exuding that undeniable quirky and playful Betsey edge. Styles feature sky high heels in tutti-frutti shades mixed with cut-out details and spiked heels making that extra statement. This June sees the launch of Betsey Blue, a range tailored for the bride-to-be on her special day, featuring classic styles covered in diamante embellishments and crystal detailing.

Overall, I loved all three collections and definitely keep an eye out for their release in June-August!

Monochrome Magic 2.0

Photos by Matthew Simpson

Top: Skeike
Shorts: General Pants similar here
Shoes: Audace Shoes here
Clutch: Colette here
Necklace: Mimco

This is my second post incorporating monochrome - I just couldn't help myself! Although at first it may seem to be a pretty simple trend with not much versatility, I am actually finding it to be a trend that is going from strength to strength this season.  Instead of a strong bold look like did a couple of months ago ('Monochrome Magic 1.0'), this time I opted for a softer look by choosing this elegant long-sleeve white peplum top from Sheike. I also injected that little bit of edge (which I always try to do with every outfit) by teaming up the top with these awesome leather running shorts from General Pants.

The one thing about monochrome is that it is meant to be simplistic and minimal. But I wanted to show that as long as the colours are subtle, you can dress it up with intricate statement jewellery, and still keep with the trend. This Mimco necklace my gorgeous sister gave me for my birthday last year was perfect.  I just adore the layered chains, and clusters of pearls and crystals in black white and silver, adding that extra bit of glam and pizazz!

Also, pointed heels have made a comeback in a HUGE way this season - screaming instant chic! this is a trend that I can see throughout winter and even carrying through to spring and summer.

Goot Romance

(Skirt by Josh Goot, Top by Seduce, Clutch by Mimco, Cuffs by Beginning Boutique and Heels by Windsor Smith)

Soul-mate: A person with whom you have a feeling of deep and natural affinity, love, intimacy, spirituality and compatibility with. Someone who completes you. Someone who your soul has been searching for. Someone who is you destiny.

A few weeks ago, on a unseasonably sunny and warm autumn day, I had the immense honour and pleasure of attending the wedding of friends Sam and Ashley. An amazing couple who compliment each other perfectly. Best friends as well as partners for life, they are evidence that true love really does exist. Sam who originates from the UK met Ashley, a born and raised in Sydney-sider, during his year travelling abroad. Little did he know that by catching a falling leaf, a sign of good luck and fortune, would be the catalyst that pushed him along the path to finding his soulmate.

For this joyous occasion I finally got to wear my Josh Goot graphic print skirt - my first piece from this talented Australian designer. Needless to say I am officially hooked! I just love the array of eye-catching colours. Continuing with the bright theme, I paired the skirt with this gorgeous silk halter and perfectly over-sized patent mandarin envelope clutch.

However, the real star of the night was of course Ashley in her amazing gown. There was no shortage of gasps and awes when she entered the boat upon which they were wed. Wearing a classic vintage style gown, adorned in delicate lace and simple elegant pearls - 'Angelic' would be one word (among many) to describe how she looked that day. Coming second only to Ashley was the view of the sun setting over Balmoral Beach from the Pavilion, the perfect setting for friends and family, who had come from near and far, to celebrate such a perfect and blissful union.

Congratulations to this amazing couple and thank you so much for letting me be a part of your beautiful day.

Extra Mile: Wish Style Challenge

(Bandolier Jacket by WISH, Top by ASOS, Skirt by Bardot, Necklace & Ring by Colette, Bag by Portmans and Sunglasses by Jimmy Choo)

Photos by Matthew Simpson

A few weeks ago I received a charming email informing me that I had been selected to participate in the Wish Blogger Style Challenge as one of their favourite bloggers from Australia and New Zealand. Styling up one piece from their latest collection, the challenge is to be judged by the one and only  Annette Cannock, head designer and creator of Wish. A brand which is synonymous with impeccable style, I could not imagine a greater privilege!

I am absolutely in love with Wish's winter campaign EXTRA MILE. The collection features Wish’s signature exclusive prints which dominate the season from retro paisley prettiness juxtaposed with bold ethnic patterns, luxe furs and street sharp leather. I wanted to style a look for the up coming winter so naturally I chose the amazing Bandolier faux fur Jacket which exudes opulence and luxury. Fur jackets will definitely be the staple wardrobe piece for those chilly winter days. Able to be styled up with a skirt and heels for that special night out or styled down with a pair of jeans and flats for that causal lunch date look, the fur jacket is much more versatile than one might first think!
